XP Dress code

We believe that:

  • Families would rather spend their money on clothes that their children can wear inside and outside school.

  • Children need to learn to express themselves responsibly.

  • Our small community and positive culture will not tolerate any kind of bullying or teasing.

  • Children are not all the same, so they should not be asked to look the same.

As such we do not have a school uniform. Instead we have a dress code.

Our dress code asks students to dress appropriately, as they would do in the adult world of work. Dress should not be offensive, dirty, revealing or ripped, portray gang membership or sexualise the child. We will always advise you in advance when there may be any specific dress requirements, during fieldwork, for example.

For the daily work that our students will do we do not think it appropriate for them to wear:

– any kind of jewellery to school, other than a watch.

– make-up, including false nails and nail varnish.

– heels, open-toed sandals or flip-flops to school.

On occasion it will be appropriate for students to dress more formally, for example during a celebration of learning. We will always give advanced notice for such occasions.

Branded Clothing and PE Kit

There will be a selection of XP branded clothing available for purchase. Clothing will include polo shirts for everyday use, a rain jacket for field work and hoodies for general use.

In line with our dress-code, we expect students to arrive to PE lessons with a change of kit which is appropriate for the activity. As a guideline we recommend the following:

  • T-shirt

  • Shorts

  • Tracksuit (top and trousers for use in winter)

  • Sports trainers with non slip soles e.g. running shoes/astro turf (not plimsolls)

  • Football boots

  • Football socks

  • Shin pads

  • Gum shield

XP branded PE kit can be purchased from the school online clothing shop, if desired.

      Hi Claire,

Thanks for your question. Our school uniform suppliers are currently updating their stock to include the XP branded clothing and creating the dedicated online shop. You can expect to see the link to this posted on the website during the first week of August. When orders are placed you can expect to receive them within 2-3 working days, so all uniform will be available well in advance of the start of the new term. Hope that helps!

      Hi Kathryn,

Thanks for getting in touch. The shop is now up and running and uniform can be purchased. To access the shop, just follow the instructions on the post on our front page news. The link and password will also be available in the Parents>Dress Code section of our website.

      Many thanks!

      Hi Marie,

Yes all students will need these. Football boots will be used for activities such as Football, Rugby and Hockey. We recommend moulded studs where possible as they’re a little more versatile. The gum shield is again for health and safety during hockey.
      Hope that helps!

Hi. Just wondered what sports are done in PE lessons. Is it mostly football and hockey or is there a variety as it seems to favour boys sports. Thanks

    • Mr M Said

Good afternoon, there are a variety of sports over the course of a year, tending to change once per term in PE. Students also do inter crew sports when the weather permits. The range of activities over the course of this year have included rounders, ultimate frisbee, danish longball, athletics, swimming, running, basketball/netball, dodgeball, badminton and cricket.
