Will you be holding another parents evening soon to answer more questions? Eg will there be transport to the school?
will it definitely be ready for September?

    • Gwyn ap Harri

Hi Debra, we will definitely be opening this coming year, and will be contacting all parents of children who have been offered a place. Transport will be looked at when we know the cohort and where they live, we may be able to help, but we cannot guarantee anything. It will be up to you to get your child to XP. Please send any questions to [email protected]

  3. Mrs l sadler

How did you come up with 50 places when there are so many children in Doncaster. There are some very disappointed children at present and if you become a success there will be a lot more.

    • Gwyn ap Harri

This is a link to the description of the process we followed. We would have loved to have given places to all the passionate parents that attended our meetings, but we have to follow a fair and transparent process.

Hi just wondering about SEN for XP, do you have specific teachers trained in SPLD ? also will the school have all the facilities like Science , RM dept and equipment that a more traditional school would have ? would love to know more and know when open day is for starters for 2015 Sept.

    • Gwyn ap Harri

Hi Cathie. SEN is so wide ranging, so it would be best to chat to us first about the specific need and our capacity, just like you would for any other school. Any specific equipment we don’t have will be worked into our expeditions so kids experience professional tools in the community. I guess scientists use spectrum analysers more than Bunsen burners nowadays..?

  5. Louise Mee

Hi, I’m really impressed with what I know about this school already and just wondered if you had a date for an open day/ meeting arranged yet for this year prior to the admissions for 2015 thanks

    • Gwyn ap Harri

Hi Louise, we will post a date up shortly. It will probably be late September. You will be able to apply through the normal Local Authority admissions process.

My daughter starts school with yourself in August. Can you confirm the hours of the school day so I can put plans in place

    Thanks

    • Mr M Said

      Hi Mrs Waring,

We will be announcing the daily school schedule this coming Monday 14th July at our information evening. If you can’t make it, we will post the schedule on the school website following the event.

      Thanks

  7. Clare Duffeld

I just wondered of you had a colour scheme in mind for your PE or is it anything suitable/appropriate
    Many thanks Clare x

    • Mr M Voltaire

      Hi Claire,

In line with our dress code we ask that students wear clothing that is appropriate for the activity. However, we will have a selection of branded PE clothing (orange and black) available which will also be available from the online shop which should be ready soon!

      Thanks for you question!

  8. hi, I’ve just recieved my sons secondary school admissions letter and seen your school. This is the first I’ve heard of it, when are you doing an open evening please? many thanks

    • Mr M Voltaire

      Hi Kelly,

Our next open evening for students beginning in September 2015 is this coming Tuesday, 23rd September. There will be an opportunity to tour our current site and see all of the amazing work our students have been doing, as well meeting the staff team. Any questions you have can be asked on the night, but in the meantime keep an eye out for updates on the home page section of our website where you’ll find any information on upcoming events and specific details about Tuesdays open evening! Further information about the school can be found on our website.

      Hope that helps!

  9. Hi was just wondering is there a fee payable for all the fieldwork, and will the residential trip be repeated? And to what cost to parents? Didn’t get chance to ask at your open evening.

    • No, fieldwork is free of charge, it is a part of our curriculum. The residential trip will be repeated yes.

    • Hi Andy, the deadline for applications is the end of this month and our students are now preparing for their student-led conferences before we break for two weeks on 17th October. However if you wanted to contact the school to arrange a time to come and visit before then, we would be happy to accommodate you.

  10. Rachael Mawer

We are looking forward to hearing whether Zara has a place for next year! Zara is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with like minded people as she has formerly been educated otherwise than at school and enjoys the challenge of project based learning. We are unsure of when we will hear about any place to be offered, so it would be great if you could give some feedback on this! Thanks and Xmas wishes from, Rachael, Zara, Debbs and Rob

    • Hi Rachael, great to hear that Zara is excited at the possibility of joining XP. I’ll double check on the date and post a comment here again once I’ve done so.
      Thanks

      • Hi Rachael, because our application process is now part of the local authority process, they will all be announced on the same date. Letters will be posted and emails sent to online applicants on the 2nd March. Good luck.
